i want to build a go kart?

I want to build a 6 foot long miniature formula one vehicle. basically a go kart, but alot bigger and im thinking heavier. I'll probably use hollow steel beams as the chasis, and a form of either aluminum or steel sheet metal for the body work. I want it to go at least 40 mph, and i dont know if i should go with a go kart engine, a lawn mower engine, maybe even a weed wacker engine. any thoughts?

You understand at 40mph if anything happens you could die, right? All so at 40 mph you will need a large track to be able to drive your kart.

If you're going to go 40mph you're going to need to get good parts. You will need a real rear axil and front end. I would look into robbing parts of a golf cart or cutting parts out of a small car like a mg midget.
The frame will have to be steel and you will have to weld it. You will need a oxygen/acetylene or tig welder. You will need a larger motor than a weed whacker. I would guess around 20+ hp. I would look into using a vw bug engine.

I'm guessing this will end up costing around 3-4k. You will end up spending half on the metal and engine. The other half on the smaller things like seat,steering wheel, brake line, brake line fittings ,wire and so on.

One important thing in regards to exercising is that you a) start moving your body and b) that the "exercise" is for at least 45-60 minutes. Your body needs this "threshold" to benefit from the exercise, especially if you want to lose weight.
