How to evaluate travel Trailers. What makes one a good one?
Recommendations, specific TT with a Dry weight less than 5000 lbs. I'm trying to do my homework before making any purchase. Here's my understanding of TV capacity. Our 4Runner (’04 2WD 4Runner-Limited V8) has the following rating: Max trailer weight 7300 lbs. 730 lbs hitch weight. With a WD hitch it goes up to 1095 lbs.
Question: A Solaris T-2575R has a hitch weight of 625 + propane 30# x 2 = 60 lbs + WD hitch @ 160 lbs. Equals a grand total of 845 lbs. 4Runner with WD hitch = 1095 –845 = 250 reserve?
Unloaded Trailer weight is 4930 lbs. + 1000 lbs. of “stuff” = 5930 -- 4Runner 7300 – 5930 = 1370 reserve. Is this good math and following proper calculations and common sense.
If money is no object, buy an Airstream. There is NOTHING else like it on the road (or campground). They are built to aircraft specs and will last a lifetime if maintained.
